Easy answer I hope: Reversing out of my garage they (parking sensors) go a bit crazy, very distracting. Is there a way of silencing them.

I need one of these like on my other car but can't find it on the Z.

If you want that just wire a switch in. Toggle under the heater controls could work breaking a feed to the speaker.

Think about it. when dose your car use more juice. when it is cold. when you come off your run The engine is warm reversing in will use less juice , Simple!!! :driving:

I don't know if you lot are having a laugh at my expense, all I wanted to know was how to disable the beep whilst reversing. lol
which I take is not possible?

And it is, I've given you 2 options. Disable permanently or manually with a switch.

It would be a possibility to disable with a push button until reverse is selected again but that would require:
a) someone smarter than me

Simple circuit with a relay, push the switch to latch once in reverse, take it out of reverse, relay opens, all is back to normal...

And there he is ^

I've not looked at the wiring diagrams but assume that would be a little fiddly at best.
So 3 options.

But he still has to drive out forwards with the engine cold so how does this not just cancel out?

Most people drive quicker going forwards. I always reverse into spaces as it's easier to get better aligned and allows for a speedy getaway.

No your engine will warm up quicker going straight on your run, you drive out of your garage turn left/ right or what ever and even save a bit of wear on the engine and gearbox.

Little bit of Veoboard, a relay and a couple of wires in a matchbox sized enclosure, prob cost less than £5 to make.

An alternative

Was thinking more of finding the reverse switch feed. Still a viable option if the OP wanted to do it properly.
