Can you change inner ball joint without buying arms

I suspect I have play in the inner ball joint (with the long bolt) on the front arms. It looks like once the arm is out that it presses out. People seem to change the whole arm, why?

It is doable, but is a massive ball ache. hence why people just do the whole arm. Chances are the bush will be shagged on the other corner anyway so might as well kill 2 birds n all that.

For the £80ish the arm costs why bother? Cost/benefit and all.

I got the inner bush for £8 so it is quite a saving if you have access to the tools nesescary

Which is a fair point - most don't though and I've just had a look on ebay - £69 for a new Myele HD arm. Plus the other one for good measure and you might as well do the arm

I take it my original arms are genuine, yes you can get pattern arms but I thought it better to repair what I have, also new arms would mean having the wheels alignment adjusted. Can you get to the top nut easily?

Even changing that bush will knock your alignment, anything suspension wise will change it.
