Yes it would seem so :) Bought today for my daughters 20th birthday , her first car :driving:
Private sale off the 1 owner who still had the receipt from when he bought it
100k , 2 new tyres , MOT , everything works & no dings , scuffs or scrapes
Its a 1.25 Fiesta Zetec & drives real well , now how long will it stay unscathed

2002 1.2 litre Vauxhall Corsa, one primary school teaching lady owner, full Vauxhall service history, 30k on the clock, nearly full MOT

£500

If you're willing to shop around and take your time there are still bargains out there to be had... :D

A few years ago, I bought a VVC MGF for £800 believe it or not and despite their reputation the little car never let me down.

Looks to be on steroids in this photo as I'd just had the suspension pumped up (probably too much)

Can't go wrong with a Fiesta - bought our's new in 2004 - still looks like new - 70k miles with no problems - same engine as your one - lower tax - nippy and economical - interior really lasts - she will love it :D :D

If she is anything like my two daughters it will not be long before its scraped and dented, The thing is Andy they think there is nothing wrong in it and it's an acceptable part of life. I used to dread the phone ringing 10 minutes after they went out. I still do and they are married with kids of there own  Decent looking car

Yea im kinda ready for the calls & hoping nothng too bad  many of her friends passed test then trundle up in brand new C1s , Polos & Fiat 500s all on lease :o well it aint happening here , she can learn the ropes in a car that won't break my heart or wallet if it gets banged up
When she's ready to step up then that's her choice , did the same with my lad who battered his first 2 motors but learned fast & since has had some nice cars that he's been proud to own & now runs a better car than me :o

Good looking wee runner there. I remember girls at work getting their first cars and telling me they expected to damage it. I had a 1.2l Polo and a brand new Mini Cooper S at the time and I couldn't think of anything worse than damaging them or getting back to find them damaged. They kept to their words too and had them looking like bumper cars in no time.

I never get that mindset of 'it will probably get dented and scraped' but then for some it's a way from A to B and they aren't bothered about a few wee dings on the way.

I'm sure she will take great care of it.

Nice Andy,
And no doubt you'll both be out there on the drive early on Sunday mornings fighting over the hose pipe and bucket & sponge ???

Ideal first car. I remember the call for a flat battery. But the worst one was when she called me because the car wouldn't start. So I drove 15 miles arrived and the car was about 30 yards from a garage. About 30 secods after I got there I spotted the fuel gauge :headbang: . I love her realy. :D

Ive lost count of how many times my sisters ran out of fuel and had to go save her!

Yup... 05 ka from eBay £674

A few issues on the inside where the trim is loose but is OK. New ciggy lighter as the previous owner had obviously ran a charger from it and it was worn. Had to have plugs/lrads/coil pack but these eat them anyway and a bit if an issue mot time with the wrong size tyres on it causing rubbing

Yes, in anticipation of my first venture into Z4 ownership in April 2014 I bought a Mazda 1996 323f with just over 60K miles and only 2 (probably retired) owners from new. 1.5 litre so cheap road tax, and it had a non-interference engine so if the cam-belt snapped you just had to fit a new one!

Ran it for 6 months, but every time I used it I kept wishing it could accelerate up hills so it went after 3K miles and was replaced by a 325ti Compact. Much better, some grunt and straight 6 soundtrack but 2 x Band K RFL - man maths at its best! :driving:

Ooh, a landmark - 300th post! And it'll be my birthday in half an hour! Just what weekends are made for!

Another good buy

My youngest his her eyes on my zed as the plate matches her initials also.
