So the stock radio in my new-to-me 2005 3.0i is dying a slow death and is going to need replacing. I'd like to go with an aftermarket headunit. However......I have the 10 speaker sound system with DSP, so if I go aftermarket I know it's going to be a huge PITA.
I've done so much research on headunit replacement over the past week my head is spinning.
From those of you that have done it, how difficult is it really to replace the headunit on a DSP system? How about speakers? Can I run new wire to the speaker locations and replace them? Am I going to be removing every body panel in my Z4 on a job like this? Is it even do-able?
Thanks in advance.
