Can this be right??

Local detailer has suggested that you wash the car between applications of polish. Can this be right there does not appear to be any logic in this, for instance i use AGSR, blackhole and then seal with a wax. Does not make sense to me especially after applying blackhole. :(

Perhaps to ensure no surface contaminants? If you did this work outside or it took a while, dirt/dust could settle and you'd apply this dust into the sealant then. Possibly also resulting in fine scratches, possibly. Its why I always have mine detailed professionally inside, no wind, no floating contaminants. I can't see it making much difference to anyone other than those of us that are unnecessarily anal about such things, and who own cars with black paintwork... lol...

Could it be to do with the oils that are in a polish perhaps? Would agree with the above though that its to remove dust and contaminants.

if the car has'nt been driven then i would say you could wax on wax if you felt the need, but ther's no need , better to wash then wax then drive and enjoy then wash then wax then drive and enjoy then wash......

I would guess the detailer is referring to using a pure (no fillers) polish to remove paint defects - when doing this you should either wash (or wipe down with panel wipe/IPA solution) the car to remove polishing oils that can hide defects. The idea is to show the true level of correction and let you decide if the paint needs more work.

With the products you listed have I'm guessing you are not polishing for full paint correction. AG SRP is a polish which has fillers to mask paint defects and a wash after polish would remove most if not all of the filler . Blackhole is a glaze (not a polish) designed to fill light swirls and leave a glossy slick look so again a wash after application would be counter-productive.
