Can somebody check this amp readout, please?

Hi guys,

Happy Easter holidays - beautiful weather for once. Only 5 more days till I can re-tax my Zed

I have just taken a draw reading from my battery to see if there is a parasitic drain. Here is the readout from the multimeter...

Can someone tell me how acceptable this reading is?

This was conducted with the car completely shut down (doors closed, locked [but no alarm engaged]).

Electrics are pretty alien to me. How many milliamps is this?

This is 9.6 mA which is diddly squat . HOWEVER you have the positive lead in the wrong hole. If you are confident that you are measuring mA then it should be in the hole labelled 200mA for the position that you have the dual at.
The hole you are using is for high current (up to 10 A). For this you need to click the dial around one position anti-clockwise to where it reads 10. It may not make any difference to the reading (probably just the higher rated fuse in line). Be careful with current measurements because you are effectively putting a short circuit in line with that which you are measuring. Put it across by mistake and you will blow the fuse in the meter.

Hope this helps
