Can i go out for a drive ?

While out at work I came across so many long distance types on their bikes, it was almost like a bloody Sunday cycling event. Three of them had the same tops on, so from a club, all sucking in their fellow idiots spittle.

To reply to the posted topic. Yes you can. I enjoyed a great roof down drive to Tavistock and back today, on some of my favourite bone dry twisties, with hardly another car in sight.

Turns out the ///MR had a worn inner on one of the front tyres picked up at the MoT. So after no joy locally for MPSS or MPS4s I needed to drive to ATS in Tavi for a new set of MP4S';s. I felt strangely guilty, but soon got over it once the engine was warmed through. :driving: :D

Could be a while before the next drive like that.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out why there was hardly another car in sight, does it! :poke:
So what does it take. :poke:

No, you can't "go for a drive"...

Excuse the publication, but the facts are correct...

A complete and utter w****r like you.

I think you may have read my post wrong. As have others. (I did bate it a little, never one to shy away from an honest debate.)

My point being I had a genuine reason for my journey in order to ensure my vehicle was road legal. I drove the shortest route from the MoT centre to the Garage where I bought the tyres and drove the exact same shortest shortest route back having spent an hour and a half calling around garages closer to home. I did have an offer of one tyre from a local garage and another from Callington to be fare. But that meant driving to one garage to pick up a tyre and to another still several miles away to pick up the other and get it fitted then back to the MoT centre. All the others could not supply until Monday by which time I was informed the MoT station would no longer be open to right my ticket, for an unknown period. I used half a packet of alcohol wipes cleaning all the hand control points wheel nut, key my hands and door handles each time someone new passed me back my keys, as I too am sh#t scared of this virus.

Thanks for biting. I do enjoy being a writer.

Looks like there may be quite a few Zs up for sale in a few months.
And it won't be the owners selling them, it will be the estate.

I like this diagram explaining why social distancing can have a big effect. Even thickies should be able to get it

On another forum I am a member of ,the admins over the last few days have banned anybody who suggesting going out on a needless car journey.Admins maybe we could look at that on this forum.

Bit extreme perhaps?
If you ban them they can't see how many people think they're effin' indiots.
And they'd probably go out for the drive anyway.

Leave them on the forum so everyone can tell them what they think and publicise their stupidity.

Several times on this forum I've seen people cautioning others not to discuss speed related issues in case the wrong people read it.
Surely the same would apply to 'Jack the Joy-rider' ? They put it up on the forum and we can all point the finger.

Saw the news last night, seems the latest trend is to have children’s party drive bys

I'm not a fan of noisy children's parties but doing a 'drive-by' is a bit extreme :guns:

Stay home does not mean load the family in a car and go for a joy ride.

The "no one's telling me what to do" tools :headbang:

As a keen cyclist I don’t get other cyclists who choose to ride directly behind another cyclist. Even if theyre 2m apart following you’re going to breathing in part of the forward riders exhalation. As I understand Covid19 virus particles can survive in still air for days. You only need to breath in one of the millions of virus particles contained in someone else’s saliva/snot/sneeze and bingo, you’re infected!
:headbang:

I’m heading for the quietest roads possible where I live out in the fields around Vleuten and if I encounter anyone else I avoid them like the plague.

I had a rant at some tw@t today for coughing in my direction and not covering his mouth. His response; ‘yeah yeah whatever’. This is in The Netherlands btw. I could have lamped him. Others around me were flabbergasted too.
Darwin was right about survival of the fittest. He didn’t quite go far enough in including the fact that the stupidest will die sooner in his theory too imo!

Was thinking about going out on my bike today but the weather has turned a bit chilly, I am used to a heated velodrome so just stayed in all day bored silly trying to answer tech questions here and watching rally videos on you tube from the GP B days.

You could come across small groups of riders all from the same household (my son used to race against me but found a girlfriend so stopped racing)

You could also come across a group of idiots but idiots don't all ride bikes some walk some drive cars ride motorbikes the list of idiot types is endless

I think Boris made the biggest mistake saying you can go out for exercise. People see this as an excuse to do all sorts! :headbang:

People will be fine staying in for a few weeks, months even with minimal exercise or alternative home based workouts.

These idiots really need to see the bigger picture and what is actually ESSENTIAL!
