i recently bought a zed with sat nav pro. unfortunately no tv..... can i put a tv on it and if so how , or do i have to replace it entirely with one that has ?

Yes. If you get a digital tv module and the cable from BMW, if piggybacks to the Satnav DVD unit. You can easily make the aerial. I did this by using copper cable running through the rubber seal of the bootlid. Worked great. When I sold my roadster, I removed it and re installed in my coupe. Easy - but module is pricey for the use it will get..

This looks like the instructions for installing an analogue tuner.

Digital tuners are the same :wink:

You can convert an analogue unit to digital pretty easily with this great little project from the E46 forum;

http://pibus.info/tv/

I've done it myself and it was pretty straight forward and is almost plug and play. Once you have the TV installed you can then go with the pibus project which gives you XBMC on the monitor up front;

There are a few limitation with the Z4 bus compared to the E46 but the developer has added some functionality for the Z4.

Its a pretty cool project. :thumbsup:
