Can heated seats be retrofitted?

Ive spotted a nice looking 23i on BMW AUC website (HERE)....got all the options im looking for apart from heated seats :(

Done a quick search but dont seem to be coming up with much. Can heated seats easyish be retrofitted?

they can be done for E85 and E86, so don't see why they couldn't do the same for E89, but it won't be cheap.

I'd suggest speaking with the dealer as no one that I know of on here that has an e89 has done this, most have heated seats I think.

EQUALLY, the BMW website only lists so many options, the car could have them, but they didn't have room to put it on the page, perhaps call the dealer to check/get a full spec emailed to you?

Looking at the picture i cant see the heated seats buttons, although they are not the greatest pictures.

Any comments on the spec/price? I know its a 23i and not really liked much on here but its sure is a sexy car and i think will be plent fast enough for me coming from a 2.5 mk4 Mondeo

It can be done for sure, but might involve going for an after market solution. (not what I would do)

To do this with OEM parts would cost a fortune, better to find a car with Heated Seats I would think unless it's a really good deal the one your looking at.

My own opinion is that its a tad expensive for a 23i.. but don't think its 'unliked' on here, there are plenty on here 20i/23i, each to their own, some want to save money or don't want the power, some aren't that fussed and just want power power power, oh I'm getting carried away now. Anyhow, its not a bad spec, the dark wood wouldn't be my preference with red interior, but again, each to their own. If you're interested, give the dealer a call and haggle, you never know... they want 23i's gone now given the 20i is out. ...and not having heated seats is hardly the end of the world. I use mine when my back plays up... other than that, I tend to forget I have them.

Heated seats is popular option. Most AUC will have them factory fitted. Find one with them is much easier.

I bought mine brand new and did not choose it to keep purchase price down. When I wanted to add them, my car had already been built.

Clicking on the PDF will help with this, lists them all from the original spec sheet

Worth going to see the car if you are seriously interested. My car was listed without PDC but when I went to see it, to my surprise (and joy) it has it!

Odd that a car with that many options doesn't have heated seats. It is easy to find a used e89 with heated seats. Not that many have navigation.

TV Function but no heated seats

Original owner probably ordered the car in summer :)

First one I've seen that has red leather and wood trim.

I think they are having a laugh with the price, I know it's an AUC, but is it worth only £1k less than davidmbell got for his 3.5, I don't think so. With the silly deals they have at the moment, I would rather pay more and get a new 2.0

Looked at the new 2.0 deals but adding all them options and the price zooms up. I have the money, never really considered pcp/lease deals...if i dont have the cash i wont buy :)

I like owning, and apart from maybe the wood trim (if its bothers me that bad im sure i can source aluminium trim from somewhere) and heated seats

just noticed on the photos some pixelated area on the front and rear bumper?! also, the photo of the alloy wheel is not great considering it is curbed! as said by others there are better examples out there, just take your time and widen your search :)

Dont read too much into pixelated / distorted AUC photos as I've seen many a dealer take some lovely shots in front of a drab industrial estate only to photoshop the car onto a lovely lake backset..

Im guessing the pixelated areas are where they have hidden the reg number? unsure why maybe it was still on a private plate.

Im only in leicester so only a short trip at weekend to view

it can't be the number plate, as it is only a small area! might be small mark there which they have tried to cover up :o

With a PCP you can always buy it during the contract. Take the finance offer. Make payments for 3 months. Ring up BMW finance and purchase the car for the settlement amount. But as you noted, all those options are expensive.

In my opinion the Ash Grain wood only works with Canberra Beige or Black leather. On the other hand the option mix on that Z4 must be nearly unique.

You can get a set of trim parts from a dealer but it is expensive. Trim parts do turn up. You might even be able to swap with someone wanting wood.

Still can't believe someone ordered a Z4 with Navigation, TV function, DVD changer, the kitchen sink,PDC, buisness audio and not heated seats.

Well ive called BMW vehicle check up and its been into dealership 3 times since new. 2 at snows isle of wight bmw and once at snows Portsmouth.

Waiting to hear back from both what work has been done on the car.

Also confirmed its spec, no heated seats.

Basically i think thats my only problem so far without viewing .I think i will be able to get trim swapped by either finding some on ebay or someone who might want to swap on here. (Cant be that hard to do)

I gave them a call about the Z4. The damaged alloys have been replaced so no problems there.

Unfortunately they totally 100% refused to move on the price at all. I might see if extra AUC cover can be checked in and go down that route
