Hi all,due to pick up my new to me zed on monday-dealer has just rang me to say dent removal man couldnt get a ding out(in fairnesss it is a small one),just wondering because my e46 is double skinned and i have had to live with one in a similar place. The option i was told was they would have to drill from behind(on my e46) to be able to push it out-thats why i left it.thanx

I thought that regardless of double skin or not these days they removed dings from the outside. I witnessed one being take out of the rear wheel arch lip on an E46 at the Bimmer show this Summer and the guy used a high tack adhesive, slide hammer and tapped it out. Did it in about 2 minutes and looked perfect and not a drill went neat it.

Dent Devils got one out for me on the rear panel (passenger side, just below the rear window, which the E89 has). At first he tried going down from the rear window area, but then realised it was double skinned. He did however get to it by going up from the wheel arch. He did a fantastic job. :D

Edit: The Dent Devils chap said to me that as a last resort, they could pull it out using glue sticks, but if not done correctly it can pull the panel too far out, leaving a raised area. :?
