Hi all,

Just joined yesterday http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=83939&p=1244355#p1244355

I've been lurking a while and have seen a few Z4m coupe valuation queries, also looked a bit online, it seems that there is a fairly wide variance so not easy to pin the value. However hoping that those in the know will be able to get me close to the mark?

Here is the spec - unfortunately no photographs at the moment (car needs a good clean so it wouldn't be fair to it):

It's been registered to my wife since February 2010 (looks like from the V5C, 2 former owners).

2007 (07)
68k miles
Full BMW main dealer service history
Carbon black with Imola Red Leather
Running the original wheels 224M pattern
Options:
6 CD changer
Rear parking sensors
Heated seats
Folding mirrors
Sun protection glass (I think, can't be certain)
Bluetooth prep
Hifi Speaker System
Navigation System - Professional
BMW Trackstar fitted 2010

The car has only been hand-washed since 2010. We have never had a fault with it apart from it needing a replacement battery in 2014, and a corroded brake line just replaced for MOT. The brake discs and pads are fairly tired, tyres are good (2x new Michelin Pilot Supersports on the back a couple of months ago, PS2's on the front with plenty of tread) The alloys need a refresh. It's an honest car that has been used as a commuting vehicle, as opposed a weekend toy. These cars are for driving, right? :D

Enter the details here for a PX valuation then go to autotrader and try and find something similar..

I reckon £16k for a private sale. A dealer might put it up at £17.5k.

CB/Imola is nice. Shame you are selling!

As a recent buyer I think I have a pretty good idea and as a private sale I'd say Flimper's estimate is a bit optimistic but as the dealers seem to be chancing their hands by bumping up the prices at the moment you might have a chance. If you wanted to sell reasonably quickly I'd put it up at £15,500 but be prepared to go lower depending on the next service and the brake/alloy situation. It might be more sensible to hang on for another year and attend to these things and see where the prices go. Most dealers speculate they are going up but it's too early to see that filter to the private sales and in the meantime if you keep the miles sensible you get to enjoy the car for longer without taking a big hit. I'd just buy a cheap estate e.g. e39/e46 and keep it as you hardly need a roof rack every day!

bluestreak56, the reg is YK07 VHO. I'd appreciate confirmation on the options fitted as I checked the paperwork from the dealer when we bought it and there are no details so I am working from memory.

Mitch 312 - Northamptonshire.

tjlaser, I did think of a cheap estate but then we'd have three motors, the other one is a 530 saloon so we'd have some space issues on the driveway. And the garage is currently full of kayaks and lord knows what else, due to ongoing house refurbishment :-D

So swap the saloon for a big estate and keep the kayaks in the car! I currently have 3 cars and a motorbike and my wife only drives one of them. I definitely need to downsize the fleet!

Sorry woodtiger all my vin lookup services are letting me down at the moment trying to find the last 7 digits of your vin to check the spec..

doesn't come up on mine

tjlazer - the kayaks are 14ft tourers so it would have to be a big car, more like a LWB hi-top transit :-D

The issue is that if you put your kayaks in and paddle downstream in faster water it's a bugger to paddle back up. So with two cars that will take roof bars, you can stick one at each end.

Thanks - found the spec. It has got the sun protection glass. If anyone is interested, they can check it out. Here's a pic that was taken by an Evo magazine photographer a few years back. I'll get some more up when it's had a wash.

Looks a good spec & colour combo but being honest if needing brakes / wheel refurb & heading for 70k id brace yourself for taking £14k / £15k as a private sale

Looks a nice clean car in your pics.
I'd ask £16,500 but be prepared to take £15,500 to £16,000 maybe?
