Can 16" wheels from 2.5i be put on 2008 Z4 3.0i with Sport?

Somewhere in 2006 when they phased out the 2.5i they also phased out the 16" z4 wheels. I want to buy a set of 4 (star pattern) and put them on my Z4 when I am not racing it (to get a smoother ride). I can't get a definitive answer as to whether they'll fit or they won't. Anyone know? I have the 2008 3.0i with sport package.

Sorry but I believe they won't fit due to the larger brake calipers fitted to the 3.0Si (265ps) compared to the previous 3.0i (231ps) models. I was able to fit 16" alloys to mine - see post from last week - because I've got the older-style 2004-model Z4 with the 231ps 3.0i.

Def will not fit the uk spec si front brakes.

I had tried when i found some at the breakers and they will not clear the brakes. 17's can though.

Correct for US models as well. I did a quick search to see if I could find 16" wheels for a 2006 3.0si and nothing smaller than 17" ever came up in the search from a number of suppliers including TireRack.
