Umm I don't know why but I also want one now! May see if I can fix it with velcro from within the grills.

I guess that is one downside I haven't mentioned... the file size of the video's are huge. 10 mins equates to about 1gb
converting it to x264/mp4 with Handbrake should make it tiny
what format files does it produce? mpeg-2 ?

It produces AVI files with MJPG encoding I believe. And yes, they can be made substantially smaller afterwards, so it's no big deal.

That link from a11y looks to be exactly the same as I bought, just a little bit more money (I got the "gift box" for free - no point though really).

Hope all of you who are buying have fun with your cameras!

I wonder if you can strap one inside our engine bay somewhere. And if there's enough light... nah probably not, it'll be dark as a cave in there right?

I forgot to ask, where/how exactly are you attaching your camera? I'm thinking the horizontal surface the lines the bottom grill? Cable-ties or leccy tape?

I'm also planning on trying it attached to the top of the centre console, or perhaps if it's small/light enough under the interior mirror...

it comes with a few clips/holders for mounting etc.

Not really tried it properly in the car yet.

Mounting it on my RC helicopter which i never use could be quite cool!

It was mounted on the black plastic strip that runs across the grill under the front bumper. I used regular masking tape, hence why I stuck it to the only unpainted surface I could find, didn't fancy peeling masking tape off a painted surface.

808 camera bonanza: I've ordered two :)
(One claimed to be Mac compatible; the other supported every OS except Mac ... but I suspect both should work fine: it's just a USB connection. Anyway, now if I drive over the first one, still have the second ...)

I use a mac myself, works just fine. Usb connection brings the camera up as a mountable volume, failing that just take out the SD card and use a card reader.

I've got something very similar, which I bought for my VX220T. I ended up getting all my mates one once they saw mine. Think it was £7 delivered!

Here is a video of it attached to an air vent in the cabin...
