Came Home Early

My work has had me up in Connecticut since the beginning of May. Pretty much ran out of work so to save some costs to the Government, I decided to come home today, for a couple of weeks.
The rental car that I drove up was a 08 Chevy Malibu. Nice car, very good power and great gas mileage. Running down the Jersey TurnPike this morning with the Cruise on at 75 I was getting 34MPG... Impressive...
Still handles like a dog....

My wife followed me back (in the Zed) to the rental company to drop off the car and I got to see how SHE drives the Zed....

She is always complaining that I drive like my hair was on fire in the Zed and throwing her around in the seat. Now I see her driving the same way..... very heavy foot, darting in and out of traffic.....

I tell her this... and that she has no room to complain about me....

Her response: "I drive it because it is fun. You always seem to be practicing for your next track day..."
Then I ask if I can drive the Zed when I go back up in a couple of weeks...
Her response: "If you take the car, I will mail you the divorce papers...." "Go buy another one....This one's mine..."

Umm - not so sure about that one at all. Another Z4 is lots cheaper than the long term cost on this count.

Consider the other angle - since she has now made a claim for the driver's seat of this one Shipkiller now has an official excuse to get a new one for himself. Think upgrade :D

Buying a nicer car then her? One way to make sure you get the divorce papers in the mail ... :D

Just tell her she looks fat driving the Zed. She will never do it again. :D

There is a sharp looking Mercedes SLK 350 that I have seen around a few times near where I live and the license plate reads FATSO. I bet his wife won't get near the thing.... :P

Actually, she has been eying a SC2000. She likes that car.

Maybe I could go get a nice used SC2000 and take the Zed away from her... . Naww. I want a newer one....

Its an S2000 - no letter C in the model name.

It might be kind of fun to have one of those around in your garage too if you can swing it. Very different car from the Z4 and both can be a lot of fun under the right conditions. The Honda S2k is a ton of fun to drive for short distances on twisty roads but is a far cry from any resembling a luxury car on all counts. Very fatiguing to drive on a road trip and zilch space for luggage. Tons of fun on a track but not the fastest thing around unless you add mods.

Too cramped for me (the S2000).

I always felt like I needed to tie a shoelace on the hood after I got in to drive it. You pretty much wear a Honda S2k as opposed to riding in it.

I just felt that my drive in the S2000 was no where's near as fun as the Z4 is. Granted i did love the short throw shifting
