I’d guess that it’s either a bored honey bee or crystallised brake fluid. Perhaps a small amount is seeping out between the pump and motor. Alternatively perhaps some fluid splashed down from the reservoir above it.
I wouldn’t be too stressed if your brake fluid level is constant and you have no warning lights. Give it a clean and watch.
