Calling all tall Z4 drivers

Anyone own a Z4 2.2i 2005 Roadster? (or similar)

if so how tall are you? and post how well you fit.

I'm looking at one and I'm 6'5, slim build.

Found that I fit in a Z4, 2.0i SE 2007 but not in a Z4, 2.0i Sport 2007.

FYI: new to these cars, also new to the different between pre and post facelift versions.

thanks for the help everyone. :D

UPDATE 1 - 15/06/2022
Turns out the Sport had the electronic Sport seats which because of the mechanisms inside have a limited range of movement so I was unable to move them as far back as the SE Manual Seats. TIL for taller drivers, the manual seats tend to have better movement and can make more leg room.

Hi there,
Did the 'Sport' have the MSport seats? The electrically operated ones of these don't seem to have quite the same range of movement.
I assume you di try to lower the seat as far as you could.
Or was it leg length to the pedals?
All I can suggest is to check a few with different types of seats and see which one fits you best.
FWIW there is no affect on the seating due to engine size that I am aware of. (Only mention that as you say you've tried 2.0s and now want to try a 2.2.)

Ah yes, they were MSport. the range didn't quite feel the same at the time so this explains it.

does the 2.2 reduce the leg room? compared to the 2.0

The interiors should all be the same dimensions regardless of engine spec. Only difference really will be the seats.
Make sure you have a good rummage around and explore all the adjustment options
I'm sure I may be corrected but for me, although less snug fitting, the standard seats seem to sit a little lower than sport ones.
In both cases, adding the motors necessary for electrical movement seems to reduce the movement range.
So for the maximum chance of fitting you'd need to try manual SE seats.
PS. Heating makes no difference.

Maybe someone on the site close to you in Manchester will let you see how well you fit in a car with standard seats.

Hi mate, the previous owner of my Zed was a guy your height and about 120 kg, so he fitted perfectly - E85, 2003. Z4 2.5i

All the E85's have the same cabin space. So it is down to the seats.

I'm 6ft 4" long legged. Never had any trouble with Sports seats fitted in mine. I have to have the seat quite upright, so I extend the front lip as far as it will go and tilt the seat base as far as it will go. That gets me the support I need at the back of my thighs to make long journeys comfortable.

Im 6"3 and own a 2007 Roadster
Never considered head or Legroom a problem.
Also plenty of room around the pedals for big feet :driving:

At last, being a short arse at 5’5” is good.
In the same club as I am 5'4" so as the saying goes. Short people last to get wet in the rain but first to go in a flood! :o

I’m 6ft 4 and feel like I could have more knee room, close to the dash and feel like I have to have the rear of the seat more upright than I’d like
