Calling 2ltr owners,advice needed please.

Another happy 2.0i owner here... I use my car for everything, commuting and weekend driving, hence why the 2.0i made sense. Doesn't matter what engine you have when your in the london rush hour(s). I also have a company car allowance policy which doesn't allow you to buy a new car over 200kg co2 emissions... well you can but then you loose your allowance of £5k!!

Having said all that, once i find a new job in the city and use the zed for weekend only, i'll be upgrading to the 3.0si coupe or roadster. Makes sense then.

enjoy the car... its a beauty

I bought a 2.0 just before the 'summer' and was a little worried about the power. Suer it's not the fastest but Ive not really been disappointed (apart from a friend opening the bonnet and asking what the big space was for, another 2 cylinders perhaps!).

It is my daily driver and offers a good balance between power, speed, economy and cost to run... which is something many of us have to consider. I dont think I made the wrong decision... other than overtaking has to be well planned, takes a bit longer.. or just dont bother!! Sure it doesnt sound like a six....

I dont believe values will drop in future, on the contrary, I beleive 2.0 prices will be stronger as more and more of us decide to downsize. Its how it is. Look at the plummeting values of big engined cars, or how long they are for sale for!

Look at it this way, sunny day, roof down, who wants to go fast!

Owned my z4 2ltr sport afew days now and am honestly loving it,roof is down even in the dark (for now) seats are amazing and the steering is really responsive and 50+mpg it makes sense! Thank you for all your fed back and advice. Will take photos weekend :driving:

Am driving like a granny at the minute so have been getting great mpg  I must be getting old for sure, but am having a great time

imo if i lived in the city and used it as a commuting car i would actually get a 2.0

Same good looks and performance in slow moving traffic!

Yeah but no doubt you're usually racing to a heavy date with a hot nursie.....
 I have just started dating a nurse and yet still am getting great mpg :P which is lucky as at the minute I own 3 cars

I recently got 50+mpg on a trip back from Manchester. That was 3/4 of the way. I got bored and it went down to 40mpg by the time I arrived home. Much more fun.

If my Zed was a daily driver I would be very happy with a 2.0.

But I'm going to hang my ars* out for a kicking here, if I wanted a tight handling 2.0 roadster with A1 reliability, low running cost and good resale I would buy a late MX5, much more chunky looking now, fantastic cars.

Consider your arse soundly kicked.

reliable and cheap to run yes, but they really ARE hairdressers car, mainly built for midgets....I can't even get in the seat its so small LOL. Oh and did I mention they are as common as muck....

Just a matter of taste obviously

Fair do's I asked for that  but it has to be said the 2.0 MX5 is lighter, more powerful and don't look too shabby now, how tall are you anyway, I'm 6'02" and found it snug but OK.

I considered a MX5 even took one for a test drive, was`nt keen on the looks then the quality of the interior totally put me off.
On paper the MX5 makes total sense but just did`nt do it for me in the end no wow factor, and the market is over run with them at the minute. Just my opinion but having drove my Z4 around for afew days now am sure I have made the right choice for me :driving:

LOL seriously, its a matter of personal taste and thats each persons business - not knocking it. If you want cheap as chips ragtop motoring its unbeatable, but there really are too many IMHO and at 6'3" I can't even get in one, honestly. Even the Zed needs the seat rammed right back against the bulkhead but at least theres room to move.

Yep the Zed's got the wow that's why I bought one after owning an SLK, looking at the MX5, S2000 and not being able to fit in a VX220T, just passing an objective view if cash is a consideration. If it's Zed you want a 2.0 is good 8)

an understandable question given the rarity of this vehicle. 8)

I mean you have a chance in a million of seeing one.

Sorry :headbang: I meant a million chances.......LOL
