Morning you knowledgeable lot,

Just after some advice/ideas reference caliper colour. My Zed is a Maldives blue with Gunmetal grey alloys.
Ive got a full set of 330i calipers to go on and im stuck for which colour to go for. I was initially thinking yellow (thought it would stand out against the blue) but now im starting to look at bronzes or orange pearls.

What are peoples thoughts? Anyone painted them an out there colour :)
 
Perhaps you may disagree but I find standard calipers in bright colours a bit garish.

Mine are painted silver, and it looks very clean behind the wheel due to it. Bright colours, in my opinion, should be reserved for multi piston calipers.
 
I do agree, too bright can be garish. Just fancied something different. Red doesn't really do much for me in all fairness. Yellow seems to be the fore runner at the moment.

I have to agree with the above. I've got some 330 calipers ready to go on mine when I get around to it and I'm planning on going with either silver or a nice grey. Again as above it's not like they're a nice 2/4/6 pot caliper so I'm inclined to just do something to subtly smarten them up rather than highlight them.
 
I recently painted my rears... Montego Blue Coupe, standard silver MV2 alloys... I went for Gold as i didn't want red, blue or yellow which tend to stand out. I doubt gold has been called subtle by many but it really does look quite nice, low key and compliments the blue quite well. Just need to get around to doing the fronts now.

So now im looking at the dark greys. Its a fair point about bright colours being better on multiport pistons. Still liking the thought of a yellow, but the dark grey would blend in with the wheels nicely.

That gold looks quite nice :)

+1 this. Why draw attention to the fact you've got bog standard brakes by painting them fluorescent pink ? Silver, grey, black or possibly a pale gold at a push IMHO looks the smartest through the spokes of a nice alloy wheel :thumbsup:
 
I'll get some photos at the weekend, but I've gone silver calipers and carriers with a black retaining clip to add a bit of contrast.

On the other hand I do also have some colour, thanks to the EBC pads adding a flash of yellow to all corners, but nothing that jumps out.

I also wish they didn't paint the backing plates bright yellow but hey ho...
 
Mine are standard calipers and gloss black. Subtle and don't stand out. Blending into the background so the wheels take all the glory.
 
I put the inner child away and went for graphite grey in the end. Should look subtle behind the wheels. Now to spend the time removing all the casting lines :)
 
I done mine last year properly prepared with all the proper very high temperature paint and lacquer, now they need done again. But silver and black is the best choice.
