California car duster

After reading some favourable reviews this got delivered today, it’s meant to restore the “just washed” look if the cars just a bit dusty. Gave it a swift tryout & it feels good with the wooden handle & only took a couple of minutes to zoom over the car

I use something similar but I only use it on the interior such as to dust off the top of the dashboard etc.

There’s been so much dust around in the air in Essex it’s been like the Sahara desert!

Which wax/coating do you guys think repels the dust the most? I’ve found that the Megs Ceramic Wax or even the Sonax BSD (despite them being more grippy to the touch) seem to do a far better job than a traditional wax...slightly counter intuitive but that’s what I’ve found.

Looks good mate, but am always a little wary of anything that may drag the gritty bits across the surface.
As long as it’s just dust which is all you’ll get in your garage it should be ideal, but if it’s kept outside there’s likely more than just dust.

Agree Grant, I’d not use it on a dirty car no matter what they claim

Hope you’re keeping well.
At least you have a lovely garden to be locked down in.
We’re lucky in this part of the country really 😀

Yes, parents are a worry.
Mine are locked away in Totnes.
Been down a few times keeping them topped up with food, but always a worry, especially my mum who’s high risk..

Thanks for the link. Looks like a useful bit of kit. I ordered one tonight.

I’ve noticed that some on eBay say California style as opposed to genuine California. Are these some cheap Chinese version as against the American made original? And is there any difference apart from price?

Had my Cali Car Duster for almost 20 years, i use it at Classic Car Shows , which tend to be in dusty fields, just before judging....quick flick over with it and the car looks fresh again, ive never had a mark on the car from it.
They used to come with a liquid wax inside, that you had to air dry for 2 days before using, it still smells of it now...the darker they go the better they pick up
