1. Went to put roof down this morning on way to work. Button light on, but no motor sound. Remembered boot extender was up, so as I went to put it down the small metal micro-switch lever just pinged off! Q - Is it easy to put back on?

2. Took TV tuner off to get to CD multiplayer wires for the DICE. As per instructions, disconnected battery. Installed DICE, reconnected battery. DICE works (sort of) but now airbag warning light stays on. Q - How do I get it turned off?

3. Broke my flipping glasses with elbow whilst getting into foetal position in boot to do the DICE

4. Disconnected DICE and transmission light came on, clunking the cogs. However, turned engine off and on again, seems to have cleared

5. Wish I hadn't got the bloody DICE now!

6. This is all in addition to the clump it received by a colleague reversing last Thursday!

1 buy a new switch
2 go to the dealer or indy to reset the light. I assume you turned the ignition on with one of the airbags disconnected? If not you may have a damaged item in the circuit - could be any one of a shed load of things
3) laser surgery might prevent this next time
4) unless it happens again forget it
5) Can't argue with that based upon events
6) bad luck

petach, not anything to add to what the has been said, but I feel your pain! Had two of the damn DICE things, one is in my office desk. Congratulations on getting it to work

Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Roof Micro switch..................mine went the same way last week :(

New switch, £18.11, 5 minutes tops to fit.

Might be able to bodge old switch and then be gentle with boot lift/drop of roof.

You will need a small torx screwdriver to remove the old switch.

Thanks for info, as it is under warranty, a BMW grease monkey can curl himself into a ball to do it. They can fix the airbag light whilst they are at it.

At 17st and 6'3" and with dodgy left hand, I just can't cut the mustard when it comes to manouvering in small places. My back is killing me from doing the DICE.

At 16 and a half stone and 6'2" it was a bit awkward to say the least :D

Mate lives in Brentwood and bruv in ongar, some quality roads in Essex, especially out toward dunmow/finchingfield.

Yep, know just where you mean, "Witch Finder General Country" or "Dueling Banjo Country" but still would like to do a weekend up north across the moors (whichever ones they are?)
