Another great weekend in Scotland. Weather was good with just the odd heavy shower, great selection of near empty roads and a milestone mileage passed. Thanks for organising Peter

Thanks to James /Alison and Julian / Andy for their company on this trip.. a mixture of weekend rotas / family issues / covid restrictions / lack of Zed / repairied Zeds precluded some others joining. The upside is you can move overall more efficently and logistics in current times are so much easier.. a few pics over the two days.. enjoy..

Here is Balmoral and Dufftown from the Snow Gates / Royal Deeside / Whisky Trail routes..

In the afternoon we went over the 'gap' between the A9 and Loch Ness to Fort Augustus on some very interesting ex drover ex military roads..

On Sunday..we had a mixture of showers and sun with severe midge attack at Rannoch Train Station..the A9 was slow with staycation traffic as was the Spean Bridge to Fort William roads..in both cases thankfully we weren't on them for long..compared to James nearly 1,000 mile odessy I only did a mere 600+ :driving:

Hopefully the formation will be full again soon

However wee kranky banning travel from the NW may impact me as I’ve booked the hotels for the august run using my U.K. card and the address it’s registered too in Blackburn with Darwen

Hopefully the hotels won’t cancel me .., as cancel culture seems to be a thing :headbang:

I doubt very much that will be an issue….it’s residency rather than where your tax affairs are domiciled…so as long you transit through the area and don’t swap bodily fluids there you should be fine  :driving:  ..

Are you doing both the Borders run and the Isle of Mull runs?

Probably just the Mull at the moment

Wife’s sister is trying to get over from NY at beginning of August so might be a bit busy here as they ( hopefully ) will be staying with us

Depends how things pan out obviously, the borders run is epic but not great timing for me and with all the restrictions I didn’t want to commit to too much as getting off the prison island hasn’t been easy

Andy..its no great issue for the Borders one either way as logistics are so much easier to manage when you are local

If you can make it then of course that will be good..
