Our February trackday at Brands is now fully booked so we are looking towards Cadwell Park on Friday March 26th as our next track outing. We are running the usual setup of open pitlane, free tuition from our team of ARDS instructors and limited numbers to make sure you can get plenty of lappage on this fantastic circuit!

The list price for this event is £150 but as ever we are doing a special rate for the clubs that we work with to run these days and we’ve frozen last years price so you can book a place for just £125. Passengers can be booked in for a tenner and extra drivers for £35.

If you haven’t been to Cadwell before it’s one of the best circuits in the country, fast and flowing in some places, tight and twisty in others and with some gradient changes that you won’t believe until you have driven them - a fantastic trackday venue and perfect for cars that handle properly ;).

If you’d like the guided tour then here’s a video from one of the cars at last years event

Bookings can be made HERE but if you’d like to come along please shout up and I’ll PM you the discount code to get the club rate.

Cheers

I have been looking at some of the events you have on Cadwell Park and Oulten Park. I haven't driven on a track before so please bear with me:

1) I assume I need track insurance - do you have a rough figure of what I can expect this to cost?

2) Do I need any special equipment such as a helmet?

3) How hardwearing is a track day on the car - will I loose much rubber or risk wearing anything out? (I said bear with me!) I understand the car will be under more strain and of course will cause some wear but I don't want to face any big bills!

4) Is free tuition available at all events?

5) How long will I be on the track - is it measured in laps or time?

I would love to take my Z4 on a track but am a little nervous having never done it before.

Thanks for your time,
Dave

Insurance is up to you and the premium will depend on how much and what you cover. e.g. premium to insure £5k damage to a £20k car with a £1k excess is about £60, or for £10k damage about £120.

Helmet, normally long-sleeved and long-legged clothes (i.e. no shorts/t-shirts).

I estimate a track day to triple the normal wear & tear on a car - however the parts that wear as a novice will be brakes as you'll be panic braking everywhere. As you get more experienced you'll find you'll wear out suspension bushes quite quickly. The amount of tread you use is again down to how hard you drive and how tight the circuit is - Cadwell is very tight in places and with all the best intentions to the organiser, I wouldn't recommend it as a first event (although it is a great track once you've done a few elsewhere).

I'll leave that to the organiser to answer.

It's open pitlane, so it means you can go out & return any time you want - within the limit of the maximum number of cars allowed on track at once of course.
I'd pace yourself and the car, so don't do more than 15-20 minutes at a time, and let both yourself and the car cool down between sessions.

Great - thanks for the very helpful reply mmm-five. I was put off by the crash videos at Castle Coombe but feel a bit better about it now!

Just seen the replies on here

Free instruction is available at all our events and most of what mmm-five has said fills in the rest of your questions. I would disagree with the comment about Cadwell being a poor choice for a first trackday though; all circuits have their risks but so long as you stay smart, start steady and build your speed over the day there's no reason why you should have any problems.

We've still got space left on this one if anyone wants to join us............ :driving:
