Cadwell Park evening - Friday, 21st August

A very rare trackday opportunity has arisen. I have been given the chance to run an evening track day at Cadwell Park on Friday 21st August 2009.

It’s not often that these crop up at short notice.. it is even rarer to get one on a Friday when everyone has finished work for the weekend.

.. it gets better,

I have even got a deal on the price - £79 - that’s for two and a half hours of track action on a balmy summer evening with the whole weekend ahead of you. Check in at 4pm, driving starts at 5.30pm, circuit closes at 8pm.

The bar will stay open for food until 9pm and last orders at 11pm

Be aware that we are guesting at a motorcycle race weekend, we are using the circuit while it is still warm from Fridays practice. That means lots and lots of leather clad biker chix all revved up for the race and in party mood - you have been warned!

..theres more,

We don’t have to go straight home either. We can all stay on site and bring drinks and BBQ’s and tell tall tales around the camp fire. If you decide to stay, a fiver gets you an overnight pass.. the toilets are clean, the showers are hot and the paddock will be full of racing machinery ready for Saturdays race meeting.

So to sum up..

Cadwell Park full circuit
Exclusive booking (just us)
Open Pit Lane
Capped entry – I’m keeping this one down to just 50 cars.
Noisy (105db)
Very cheap.. £79
Run to my usual high BMWCC standards

I'm waiting for your call..

Hi Nick,

Having just got my first Z4 & not living too far from Cadwell, I would like to join you for the evening of the 21st august. Is that ok?

Pete Whiting.

Yes - you would be most welcome.
If you want to drive on the circuit, PM me your email address and I will return the forms.
If you want to come and watch, just roll up.

Oh, I missed this thread.
Have you got any places on this one still going Nick?
I may be able to get my friend and his M5 too.

I dust sent you a message redgarding Donnington too.

Sorry mate, thought you name was down for this one....& yes a great time :D Can't wait for the next one!

There is an MSV 'Taster session' at Cadwell next week, a 20 min track session for 25 quid. I think I'll give it a go, to try Cadwell out before taking the plunge on a full day. Any local people up for trying it?

20 minutes is too short to learn anything other than where the pits are

You'll be braking too early and too heavily and turning in too late/early and then trying to floor it down the straights to get some speed.

I'd prefer at least a half day so that you can go out and do a few sighting laps, then come back in and get an instructur to do a few laps, then do a few laps yourself and then finally another session with the instructor.

The instructor sessions will let him see how/if you've progressed and he'll be able to point out the proper lines & braking points. Whereas the solo laps will let you anaylyse the circuit a bit more without trying to please an instructor.

Yeah I know what you are saying mate, but really I'm just thinking of trying it to get a feel of the track as I've never been on a trackday on a proper track before. I'm a bit worried about it tbh, mainly because of the other people out there.
