I managed to get two hours of dry weather to get all the filth of my Z4, and when I was drying it down I noticed a bird dropping on the bonnet still had that petrolly sheen to it with a few bits left over.
Rather that doing the sensible thing and getting my bug/tar loosener, I grabbed a sponge with a microfibre back and tried to lift it. It didn't come off easy so I gave it a bit more of a rub til it came off. You can probably guess where I'm going with this.
I've now got a lovely 2x2" swirl mark that's left a light sheen on the bonnet and whilst not super noticeable it's annoying.
Two questions:
1) Is there a polish I can use to hand buff this away that you would recommend to someone who's fairly cack-handed?
2) Does anyone know a decent detailer around the Derby area that might be able to do spot jobs like this if I go for a professional fix? I'd be looking to get a few more things buffed out if so, like fingernail marks under the handles and a few luggage scrapes on the lower rear bumper.
