Cabrioshield the best investment with recent weather

Hi

I brought my cabrioshield a couple of months ago and I can honestly day it's been the best thing I've brought my Z4.

The peace of mind that my roof motor is nice and dry underneath has been great.

We've had so much rain the last 2 weeks I'm sure at stages I would have had a fair amount of water running down the roof drain.

With a severe down pour can the drain holes cope with the rain water ?

what secures these to the car? could someone just come along and pinch it?

Not without ripping it apart. It has tabs that fit between the door and boot gaps when you close the doors and boot.

+2 Excellent product, great tailored fit, car bone dry underneath, very reassuring to have one with all this rain!

sounds too much hassle to take off daily but they do look nice. im always concerned with a cover scratching the car as they move about.

Just did a quick search and that looks great...

-Does it completely cover the gap around the car where the soft top joins to the body of the car?
-And how is it with strong winds, I can't tell from the pics the density of it and the current one I have just flaps around?
-Where did you buy it from?

To answer the previous question about how the car copes with all the water, in mine it didn't! Water seems to be getting in somewhere and not draining properly, see this post here:

I'm so relieved that I spent all the time, effort and money back in September to replace the weather barriers and sort out the wiper tray in my coupe. I was getting a soggy carpet then, after the rain we've had the last month there would be a foot of water in there by now!

Yes it covers the gap completely. They have magnetic seams along the side sections with soft sort of fleece material on the inside on the magnetic sections. You open both doors and the boot slightly to fit - There are rubber lugs that slide down the front/back of the doors and boot voids to secure it. The front goes under the wipers. It's fiddly for the first go but Now I can put it on in a couple of minutes, and takes seconds to remove. It's a decent weight twill canvas type material. I've never had any issue so far with swirlies but I do wipe down the paintwork where the hood touches if I have driven it. It's stayed on fine for me even with the recent strong winds, occasionally the wind can pull it out slightly from under the front wipers but you just need to tuck it back under. No danger of it getting blown off that's for sure.

It's a thick canvas which covers the whole roof. The edges that sit on the paintwork are covered in a soft material to prevent scratches. They are also magnetic.

I've seen no flapping in strong wind and I have black paintwork and have no scratches.

I've been umming and ahhhing about getting one of these for mine, especially as I may have to park under trees at work...

Do you have a linky to the place where you got it?

TIA

Paul
