Its true tyre noise is the biggest factor, and if that's the case the coupe will also have this. In theory any way

LOL, no-one is moaning..but buying a car with a fabric top and then saying its a "quiet car" is just talking tosh............

you need glasses. i said it wasn't noisy. i never said it was a quiet car.

want a quiet car, buy a rolls as someone said earlier in the thread.

Only real way to test rag top against coupe would be to use a DB meter.

You would need to ensure both cars had the same wheels and tyres though at correct pressures.

TBH I don't think there will be much in it, the rag top doesn't suffer from wind noise although HGV's coming the other way are noisier.

As said before though the Z4 isn't a luxury woftmobile or motorway cruiser (which it does just fine)

It a wind in your hair car, and as for the coupe, well it was just an after thought.

I've not owned mine long, but I've been very impressed with the cabin noise tbh.
I expected much worse, let's put it that way.

It helps that there's not much engine/exhaust noise when cruising at motorway speeds due to the lazy 3.0 lump in 6th..
