hi everyone, my heater has stopped working but only on the passenger side of the cabin it still blows air but only cold it is hot for a second but the blows cold any ideas? thank you :headbang:

Hi,
I’m resurrecting this thread as I have the similar problem as that reported by the OP marcshep4.
The footwell heater vents on the passenger side (UK car) provide only a trickle of luke warm air. The drivers’ side footwell on the other hand is treated to a virtual gale of nice toasty warm air.
I’ve taken of the cover above the footwell and I can see the white heater linkage moving when the heater controls are turned to the footwell position. However all the flow seems to be going to the drivers’ side. Has anybody had a reason to dismantle a Z4 heater box and determine if there are internal flaps that can become dislodged? The illustrations on the REALOEM parts page are not particularly helpful.
SWMBO a regular passenger is very pleased with the car in the 8 weeks of ownership, but this may change if she gets hypothermia during the winter months.
I’ve tried telling her that it’s dual zone climate control, but I don’t think I got away with it!

I had a problem like this, I found that the heater pipe had become misalaigned with the outlet, I removed the panelling to access the pipe (easy job) re aligned it with the hole, problem cured

Thanks for the pointer RustyZ4,
I spent a couple of hours in the passenger side footwell today. ( oh, my poor back!)
There seems to be a plastic tab with a retaining pin thing on the trim piece under the dashboard. This is supossed to align the heater outlet pipe with the hole in the trim piece. On my car the tab is broken off allowing the pipe and the hole to be very slightly miss-aligned. I've attempted a repair with a piece of flexible plastic & araldite. I'll see if that helps tomorrow when the glue has cured for a few hours.

Ian.
