C-Tek charging for E89

I have used these on other cars and may go this route. It is magnetic and allows you to connect charger without opening hood,it's made by MagCode...

The last owner of my car also connected his charger straight to the battery terminals with no issues. I did the same for a few weeks then after reading about the IBS I started charging through the points in the engine bay but my negative connection is a bolt on the top strut thing

yep we use the bolt on top of the strut too and the CTEK works just fine on it… she’s trickling away now until April. Also feed the cables out between the bumper and headlight to avoid trapped leads.
