Bypass pipe question ?

Okay well I have seen that everyone seems to buy bypass pipes as a manufactured part then has them patched onto the OEM exhaust. What difference does buying these parts make from taking it to a custom exhaust specialist and having them piece in their own pipe rather than pre made ordered part?

Also looking for the best place to order tips?

I like the OEM exhaust so going to improve it rather than replace, the noise is nice as standard could just do with a bit more growl and look better. 8)

You can always modify the back boxes for a bit more noise. I bought a set that had already been done and very pleased with them.

I believe that some cannot make the part.

I went to a largish independent exhaust place and they were impressed with the quality and manufacture. I ain't an engineer but I don't think it's as simple as attaching any old pipe... The place I went to went as far as asking where I got them as they would consider buying them in themselves.

Where did you order from?

There's at least 5 mods I want to do just now but choosing which to do first is proving tricky!

Which of these does anyone think gives the best bang for your buck lol?

Bypass and tips
H&R lowering springs
Genuine csl alloys
Strut brace
Wrap

If I had the cash I would do them all right now but Christmas etc doesn't allow this :headbang:

I ordered from warren engineering, do a search on here there details are somewhere.

Bypass pipes are the best thing to do to the car, don't get CSL's. Every man and his dog has them.

IMO comparing one against the other isn't really fair. For the same(ish) money, you could do:

1. Bypass & Tips AND H&R Lowering Springs AND Strut Brace

OR

2. Genuine CSL Alloys

OR

3. Wrap

Personally I'd do option 1 as you'd make the most difference to the look and feel of the car IMO, plus you'd probably have money left over if you have the >£1k required for Gen CSLs

Good advice. Why do you want new tips though? Are your current ones goosed?

No not goosed they just look a bit plain to me, would like them bigger in stainless, sure I've seen a few people on here do that?

That is a good shout mate, I reckon I'll do it in that exact order.

I'm guessing the bypass pipes are a custom job? As in no where stocks them, all one offs?

Hi Dean

I have been known to make a few exhaust tips for members. The page has been removed as i have no way of making them at the moment. I will in the new year be making things again once my workshop is complete.

I will be making tips strut braces with matching fire wall brace. Gear knobs handbrake handles and any other odd bits people want. If you twist my arm and you live close (and you want one) I might do a few quad conversions.

Mokey :)

That's what's thought you meant but the fact I already had 4 stumped me lol
So when will you be back in business then monkey? :poke:

Ok guys i will post when i am up and running.

dbaz you will have to sweet talk me for the quad its lots of work. You will have to be fairly local as well. I am in Oxford if your keen PM me.
