Bye Guys (and Girls, AngieM) Respectful Goodbye!

Well, I've only just seen the 'I hate you all' goodbye thread from Simo so I thought I'd counter act that one with my goodbye (kind of, as I'll still browse the threads), for now!!

Firstly, a cracking forum with very very helpful forum members old and new with lots of friendly and witty banter to boot.

No qualms from me as I depart.

Reason - I was after a 35is after selling the 3.0 E85 a couple of weeks ago but I've found that buying at this time of year is a bad move for a 'rare' and kind of sort after roadster. The nice ones are over priced imo.

I could've bought a 30i/35i but I would've regretted it immediately as it was a 35is I wanted.

So, after a lot of soul searching and weighing up the pro's n cons for the next purchase and the fact that my wife didn't like driving the E85 (she loved the look but never got on with it behind the wheel, manual gearbox didn't help her) we are today picking up a 16 plate Mazda MX5, 2.0 Sport Nav in Soul Red.

The MX5 will get used more than the Z4 as my wife will now use it daily/when the sun shines etc....

So, thank you ALL for making this forum a friendly and informative one. I for one have nothing but kind words to leave you all with.

You don't have to leave the forum just because you've sold the car - stick around and join in the fun

Oh come on - at least do it properly.

That's not a "goodbye"

You haven't deleted a single post!

Cheerio Neil. Pleasure to have met you. Shame you couldn't find what you were after. There is one out there with your name on it though.
You're welcome to pop round anytime for coffee n natter. Oh and to take a gander at your new motor.
Cheers Jak. :driving:

Cheers pal.

Nice to have met you also fella. Thx for the offer of the cuppa, great gesture.

I'll still be around the forum though, lurking.

MX5 ?
Good job you walked before you were pushed... :D
Just kidding - they are great sports cars, very different to Zeds. Enjoy and do hope as others have expressed you stick around and tell us how the car turns out.

A sad nbexit announcement but I have to admit that I've eyed up the new MX5 which is a much more purposeful package, if I used my roadster as a daily the MX5 would be high on my list. Stick around and let us have some pics and a review when you've lived with the MX for a bit 8)

Enjoy the car
I saw one in the flesh last week - very nice!

Aaaawwww nb67, still a cracking wee choice of car. You never know, if you get bored of it and still fancy a 35is then there maybe one of two up for sale.

Like the guys say, stick around. Nice to have other enthusiasts around and we can't just keep all the porker owners and exclude others :P

Plus where would you get the sort of banter that goes on in here??

I've really enjoyed your posts Neil - you're a top bloke
Sad to see you leaving the Z4 fold, but I'm sure you'll both have lots of fun in the MX5. Hope you stick around on the forum and occasionally contribute. Definitely post up some pics of your MX5 - I like the new shape and 'soul red' sounds very striking

Well, all I can say is thank you to you all for your kind words.

This is why a 'thanks' button on peoples posts would be a good addition to the forum and I could thank each post individually.

Onto the 'new' car, an earlier post asked if it was the new style, yep to that one, as for the pics, they'll be up soon once I've got it how I want it. Funny thing, well, for me, a quite a gut wrenching site, was the lacky's bucket and sponge was still sat next to our MX5 as we pulled up as we'd gotten there earlier than expected. A fookin sponge to clean a car with!!!!

I had to get the sales guy to move it as it was stressing me out!!
As for the sponge inflicted swirls in the paint on a car with 640 miles on, all I can say is, who in a dealership allows such an archaic style of cleaning on brand new cars. Shocking really.

I'll sort it out this week and get some protection on the paint and the wheels.

As for the drive home. Very nice indeed. No 6 pot rasp but it does sound nice for a 4 pot.
It's very nimble and handles lovely. The seats are lovely to sit in and wrap around you snuggly shall I say.
Keyless entry/start, Sat Nav, Bluetooth, DAB, Bose speakers incl in the headrests, auto LED Headlights, auto wipers etc etc....

Altogether, a cracking little car in a beaut colour. Pics to follow.
