Well the time has sadly come!

just over 3 weeks ago i said goodbye to my beloved Z4 - The car itself from the very start of ownership cost me ££££££££££££££'s in repairs. If it wasnt one thing it was most certainly going to be the other. From failed hanbrakes causing my car to roll and crack/damage my headlight and front bumper to failed roof motors. Despite all this i loved this car always put a smile on my face driving it but at the age it was and likely to be costing me even more money the sensible head had to be put on. So one last 30 mins blast up the road with the roof down i said goodbye to this....

Mercedes Benz C220 AMG - The comfort and modern element not to mention practicallity is just night and day compared to the Z4. I just thought id share this with the forum incase the Z comes back on the forum id like to know its being looked after.

P.S The noise of the straight 6 on full blast will always make me smile and a sound ill never forget.

Greg.

Thats a lovely step up! Nice one.

With regards to this failed handbrake, what was the cause of this and what did it cost to repair? Only asking as mine broke today and i'm trying to figure out what has broken and how much i'm gonna get stung for to fix it

I never actually got to the bottom of it tbh, I woke up one morning and my car had rolled to the bottom of the drive hitting the wall. I never got to the bottom of the handbrake situation the garage just said it "must have failed" and started parking it in gear. I had to have my light fixed and bumper fixed & re sprayed after about a month it cracked again so i bought a second hand bumper from here had that sprayed and fitted.

Good luck with your handbrake sorry that wasnt much help.

From an ageing car to a car that ages you :poke:

Enjoy the new car though

Nice Merc

Can't deny the ease of ownership and practicality but it will be interesting to see how the cost of depreciation stacks up against a couple of repairs on the Zed?
