I did a SAC the other week, just before insurance time on the ///M, the insurance company asked if I had any points or been on a SAC, I said yes to the latter and it increased my premium, so they do take it into consideration, sorry PVR for the :hijacked:
I did a SAC earlier this year [camera van caught me doing 86 on a duel carriageway - :headbang: ] A complete waste of time, but saved me points :) [although cost me money and time :x ]

Insurance renewed online, so ask no questions, told no lies

As far as I am aware, only Admiral asks the question at the moment. At least, that is the only one that I am aware of.

How are the track day companies going to manage?

Very time i go they want the counterpart as well as the plastic one to see what points are on it.

This should be interesting or slow down the booking in process on the day!

Out of interest - why does it matter if you have points in relation to a track day?

Im under the impession that the photocard driving licence must be renewed every 10 years or you are liable to a £1,000 fine. Whereas the old paper lasts until sge 70. Therefore I offer the two fingered salute to the photocard ID. (Unless I have been misinformed?)

You are correct, but not a lot of people realise that and don't. :o

Note to readers - check 4b NOW!

It costs you as well and if you dont renew you can be fined.

One more month and we can throw it away, thank goodness. Never understood why we needed it in the first place.

Apparently not. According to BBC news this morning if you already have the paper counterpart you have to keep it.
The new rules only apply to new applications. In other words if you apply for a new card licence you will only be issued with the photo part.
They also said the start date has not been finalised despite what it says on their web site so DVLA are still on top form

You sure though? It still says this:

What to do with your paper counterpart from January 2015

If you don’t think you’ll need it, then you may destroy it. You should not destroy the counterpart before 1 January 2015.

It will be a battle field come Jan 1, I bought a car this weekend for someone else and the question about the counterpart came up (i.e. having to show it), and I mentioned that they only had a month left to ask that question. They had no idea what I was on about.

Just did a search and could not find anything about a delay, change and basically - very little about anything relating to this except for a few Pistonhead threads going back a while.
