I could not find if this has been covered before but I thought it would help some if it hasn't.
It all started about a year ago when from time to time I heard a buzzing noise from somewhere in the footwell area. I always thought it was a voltage leak somewhere in the speaker line which created the sound even though it continued after turning the radio off.
I went to an audio specialist that said that it is for sure not from the speakers. So having that out of the way I started checking everything else down there. Apparently the sound comes from a fan which is located at the back.

You can try to put some wd40 or replace it with a new one.
