Buzzing from iPod aux-in

I bought this iPod kit to have something for the time being before I get DICE or Intavee: http://isimplesolutions.com/ipod-adapter/TranzIt.asp It was only like 6 bucks at work.

I have the version with the rca cables that I have plugged into my aux input. And the power cables, for charging, are going to the ground and accessory wire on the radio harness. However, I get a buzzing noise that gets louder as the volume goes up and slightly as the revs go up. :headbang:

Do I need to use a different source for power and ground? What about one of those ground loop isolators?

Thanks for any adivce!

Id also make sure all the connectors are pushed in firmly. Had similar in our smaller car (Mazda2) but hadnt pushed the lead in far enough..

It could be related to the power cable being too close to the RCS leads. That usually results in a buzzing/whining sound that changes in pitch with the revs: getting higher as you rev the engine. Might be worth checking where your RCA cable is in relation to ANY power lead carrying a current.

All three above are almost definately the cause (if not, a broken unit)

I'd start with checking / moving the RCA's, then move to a different grounding point.. then if all else fails remove and re-install the whole kit, incase something's not plugged in right :)

Okay, I grounded it directly to the car and I still get the buzzing. The RCA's seemed to be plugged in all the way and I tried to get the power/ground wires as far a way as possible, but I will double check on that at work tommorrow.

When the car is only in accessory there is no feedback. when the car running there is feedback. Is that probably alternator whine?

EDIT: Sorted it today! The ground wasnt strong enough. theres a slight hum when the volume is almost all the way down, but...who listens to it at that level! :D haha

Thanks for everyones input on this!
