Buying Z4 Roadster

I found a Z4 2.5i Sport Roadster (Sep.2006) from a BMW dealer. I hope Z4 owners here can answer me few questions:

(1) The car is just over 2 years old, but all 4 brake calipers and hubs are quite rusty. Is it normal on all Z4?

(2) Two small holes were repaired on the fabric hood. Is fabric hood expensive to replace (dealer)?

(3) Is the hood 100% weatherproof, i.e. no water leak?

(4) What else do I have to check?

(5) Do washer jets spray screenwash (no needle required to adjust the direction of the jets)?

I currently own my 4th BMW, a 523i Sport (E60). After the test drive last week, I was very confused. All my previous BMWs were 318i (E36), 523i (E39), and 323Ci (E46). Z4 will be my first roadster. I like the low driving position and handling of Z4. But it is very different from other BMWs I had before. Can anyone tell me how to live with the car everyday? My daily journey is abour 47 miles, mainly twisty country roads. I had heard that many people switched from coupe/saloon to Z4 only for very short period of time, the ownership was very short. I also had a Lotus Elise S1 before, but only had the Elise for 2 weeks, then bought the 323Ci instead. Is Z4 different?

1 - Most cars calipers and hubs which aren't painted will be rusty looking.

2 - Yes

3 - Yes

4 - Check that the roof goes up and down without any straining and all the other usual checks you would make when buying a used car.

z is easy to live with-but with your drive u need to be sure u r happy with a sports car. If the car is approved used id argue the repairs rather than replacement ofthe roof.

I saw your car fitted with hood cover when the hood is down. Is it really only to cover/protect the hood? Does it have other functions?
