Buying Z4 Coupe - advice / assurance please!

welcome along ...... you had your buying shoes on this morning ....

(believe it or not local land rover dealer told me that he could tell when a farmer was serious about buying a defender ... he'd be in his best brogues .... his buying shoes)

presume its the car from durham .... you'll enjoy it .....

Here's the link, nothing to look at unfortunately as it's a coming soon. Didn't realise how much I was determined I wanted one till I posted on here and had a chat. I can still withdraw my deposit should the car not meet my expectations, but at least it's secured for now...

It's higher mileage than I ever wanted - but from what you're all telling me I'll barely notice. My Renault Clio I had a few years ago started to fall apart at 30k which I think is where my outlook arose from. I'm thinking BMWs are made of stronger stuff...

Welcome along to the exclusive coupe club Hype

Mines got 34K and still looks and feels like brand new.. BMW is a different league to a clio in everyway so dont let that inluence your decision!

Hope the car is what you want.. You'll certainly enjoy it that's for sure :driving:

Hope so too! Here's a question - the alloy's aren't listed as an option, does that mean they'll most likely be these? !B-sHdhgCWk~$(KGrHqQOKiQEy5KeUsgbBM9Y1qcShw~~_35.jpg

Cheers. I've checked with the dealer and he says he'll confirm when it comes in - difficult to describe over the phone though.

Cheers, I'm thinking I'm in a minority as I think they just edge the split-rims that you see on a lot of models.

I agree with the chaps here, I picked my Jan 2008 57 plate 3.0si Sport up a month ago. I got it from a local BMW main agent. It had 1 lady owner and had been supplied and serviced by them from new, 29,000 miles, Titanium silver paint with the brushed aluminium trim interior and 2 tone black and silver grey seats with matching silver grey door inserts (looks really tricky combined with the brushed ali dash and console etc). As stated already interior spec is very subjective, some people want them fully loaded others are not so bothered. Remember, with BMW just about everything is an option when you buy new! So with 2nd hand you are essentially buying someone elses preferences so although there are LOTS of cars out there you may need to decide what you are willing to compromise on. For instance, in my case it had to be the 3.0si sport with tiptronic and paddle shift and it had to be a silver coupe with low mileage, those were the things I would not compromise on. My car has no built in sat nav, no heated seats (they are elec memory however), no auto folding mirrors, no cd changer. But none of those things were deal breakers for me, it's got the things I really wanted (ok heated seats would be nice on cold mornings :P ) and on top of that they gave me 12 months extended warranty, fitted a brand new glove box, 2 new front fogs and 4 brand new 18" star spoke split rims. I paid £15,800 for it, which felt like a cracking deal.
So shop around, decide what you want and what you can live without, and flash the cash. You absolutely won't regret it, I promise you will love your Z4. And keep in touch here, I've found this site an amazing resource of information and like minded Z4 loons (sorry enthusiasts) and everyone has a sense of humour so whether you need serious info or just want to natter or let off steam this forum is the place!
In fact I'm quite addicted to it at the moment
Anyhow I'm off for a blast in my beautiful coupe now! Good luck :D

R u an ex S2000 driver by any chance?

hello and welcome

only just noticed this post, by which time you have already picked your car, i'm sure it will be very nice and you will be over the moon with it

with reference to the wheels, its like every thing else, down to personal choice, some prefer the 108's to the MV2s but the 108's are far more prone to corrosion, the MV2s however are much harder to clean

the first mod as to be a stubby, also get yourself a z4-forum sticker

a small aerial

again its personal choice, but its a bit of a forum emblem

You've bought the wrong car, it has a roof

I won't hold it against you though.

Haha, I did consider the roofless option but chickened out. Only ever had hardtops before.

Told my wife that I "might" be getting the coupe and she had concerns over the 2 seats. Oops, bit late now. Sure she'll come round... Not sure what she'll think when I tell her I've also got a mangowalk stubby.
