I am looking at a 35is at Synters and they have told me the brake discs are fine, the thickness is:

Front - 28.7mm
Rears - 18.6mm

What do you think?

Thanks - so if I am reading right the fronts have .3mm left and rears .2mm left. How much life/miles is this likely to give me?

How are the pads? I ask, as if you look there is a higher min thickness specified. I presume this is because both that new pads will wear the disc more as they bed, and they prob won't get inspected again for some time after new pads..

Give me 2 mins and I'll check Autodata again and see if a min pad thickness is specified.

Sorry, just noticed the min pad spec is also above. See if they are below the spec, in which case, following the above, it will need new pads AND discs.. But your discs are also above the mins for requiring replacement even if the pads are past it, if that makes sense..

You have 0.9mm on the front discs, and 1.0mm on the rears

No, it's 27.6 & 17.6 during a standard measurement. The other figures are for measurements taken when the pads are being replaced. If the pads are 10mm, then it's safe to assume recent replacements, at which time the discs would have still been above the higher thickness figures specified for replacement.
