Hi All,
Newbie member here, ran a search but found no reference to these Coilovers that I'm looking to pull the trigger on today.
https://www.stanceduk.com/products/...85-roadster-coupe?_pos=1&_sid=d3e6fa067&_ss=r
I'm just a standard road driver with no aspiration for track days and not looking to drop to the ground (running 19's), just looking to overhaul the aged factory setup and buy some component future proofing for annual MOT etc.
So long story short, any members here have these fitted or know of the product? If no adverse feedback I'm looking to buy today and have a local garage install as an early xmas gift to myself.
Thanks in advance

As a 'standard road driver' not tracking the car, then the question is "Why?"

I've only experience of these on a Mazda, so maybe not totally relevant, but that ride is now harsh. To the extent that it will be returning to OEM spec. Personally I wouldn't bother, unless you need to maintain a boy-racer image and are prepared to visit the dentist and osteopath more frequently.

What do you have fitted at the moment? SE or Msport springs? What's wrong with the current set-up?

Your requirements just shout OEM to me.
For around £400 (plus labour) you can replace all four corners, shocks, top mounts, bump stops etc, keeping your original springs, using Sachs or Bilstein B4 dampers, Lemforder mounts.
You will notice a huge difference if yours are old and worn.

What Samm said - if you want to future proof the car, and have no specific need to 'upgrade' to coilovers, then best advice is to buy OE replacement dampers and springs - they will last much longer than any aftermarket/upgraded alternative.

couple of examples;
1. My Bilstein b8 dampers on my old 3.0si coupe lasted less than 3 years and under 25000 miles before one burst a seal, necessitating replacement units - note that Bilstein refused to cover these under warranty either which was extremely disappointing.

1. My current Intrax coilovers need to be rebuilt every 2 years, and as a minimum this equates to £125 per damper, plus postage etc, and that's on the basis they only need oil and seals, if anything else needed it goes up from there. Cheap coilovers will also need rebuilding, they just wont tell you this, so you'll end up with those being pretty tired and needing rebuilding inside of 3 years, and you're back to where you started.

In summary, if you're not wanting anything other than to overhaul the suspension and future-proof it for a few years, fit OE replacement parts and enjoy!

Thanks for the replies with valued feedback and steer on this. Glad I asked the question then as would seem I was on the wrong path.
Ive had the car a couple of months, it has 160k on the clock and this shows on the suspension front and so I thought I would invest in potentially a 'tougher' component build than OE, forgive my miss thought on this.
I'll visit autodoc and spec from your highlighted OE components and avoid the budget coilover further.
Thanks again, much appreciated.

[ref]lbigwinn[/ref] is not too far from you, in Lincoln. He is the closest to you that I'm aware of that has done many suspension refreshes.
I would suggest that before you do anything you speak to him.
He 'may' even take on the job for you instead of going to a garage. I've lost track of how many he has done now, but he does know exactly which bits to source and which to avoid.
If you were nearer Norfolk then I'd do the same for you.

On the plus side, you've used the forum for one of it's best attributes, received good advice and (unlike a few) have taken it on board.

Hi, Thanks for your post - Great stuff, I shall indeed send him a msg then. My Son is at Lincoln University, less than an hour away as you say, reckon alongside the suspension overhauling, I could come up with a hot list of jobs for his consideration of works as my passenger door elec window mechanism has failed and the drivers door outer handle is inoperable etc so would be brilliant to have a local Z4 specialist rather than paying a local garage who haven't ever worked on one or at least not in a long time.
Many thanks again, great and valuable advice from my first post.

Oops, my previous post had a slight spelling error.
It's [ref]bigwinn[/ref] you're looking for.
Over to you Stuart.
