Buying a Z4 M Coupe

Well it is done. Sold and picking up on Friday. All happened very fast :?

Think i got a good deal. Listed at £32850 and sold for £32150 + £16k for my Z. Could perhaps get more for pvt sale but to do it in a week..... :cry:

Actually drove the car last after doing the haggling and i am glad i did as it is superb and i would have fallen in love and not haggled as much!

One thing though... phoned up Adrian Flux on Thursday to get a ££ if i changed. I was quoted £950 ish but phoned today and it has shot up to £1500!!! Dont get it.

My current insurance runs out on 26th. I get the car on the 28th so decided not to renew current insurance and take out a 2 day policy to cover. I also have the 7 days free insurance that you get for all BMW's so i dont need insurance until 5th Oct. Perhaps this is the problem?
 
Try the RAC for insurance, I was recently quoted £469. down from £1200 for my old Alpina Roadster. :thumbsup:
 
Congrats on the purchase, I'm looking for a Z4MC at the moment. Just interested in the dealer's offer on you 350Z, I spoke to a dealer about part-exing my fully loaded 2003 Z4 and they offered me 11.5K! I could get circa 16-17 private sale, so interested in how this compares.

I got 16k for my 350z. I think i could get 17 private but there are a fair few on the market at the moment with the new one just coming out so i went the part ex way.
Dealer was great when phoning around he had the phone on speaker all the time so it was a transparent deal. He showed me how much they bought the Z4 for too - 31k.
Getting 3.75% finance as well so happy with that.

So only a grand off that sounds great, I would have done a deal there and then if they were only a grand off, but 4.5+! Lets hope the next dealer I speak with doesn't want to pull my trousers down also :(
 
Have you tried confused.com?

I have got insurance on mine for 800 with elephant and they gave me 5 years ncb on the car once I moved my other car to them. Admiral was another good price for me, same company as Elephant too.

Norwich Union via Swinton's premium was £520 with £500 excess; full NCB, no points for either wife or me and we're both advanced drivers - not that AD makes any difference to policy. You only get reductions if the policy is more expensive to begin with....
 
Hi guys, interesting thread, looking at changing to a Z4M Coupe myself...but can't get the prices you quote?

I want a black one, and there is a fair bit of choice. All are October 06, March 07 or June 07 and have good option lists and under 6k on the clock. All of them are £35k or there abouts, and I am told by a trader that BMW GB is selling them to dealers for £33-£34k? But you guys are getting them for circa £31k and I want to check I am not being raped. One car was offered at £39500! When I told him that was steep compared to other dealers, he said we can do it for £35,450. Interesting...

So is black commanding a real premium (car mentioned here was silver I notice) or are these prices definitely moveable?

LOL, and yeah that proves a point. If only it didn't have red leather...its otherwise perfect. Can use that as a bargaining tool though.

Heres an interesting one - can that privacy glass be de-tinted or are you stuck with it?

That's a nice car I have seen it in the flesh. They've had it for at least a month so I'd try to negotiate. If you're prepared to visit Preston then Woodman's at Blackpool (off the roundabout at the end of the M55) also have a black Z4MC and last time I was in a lovely red Z4MR call 01253 697101 as they don't always put them on the AUC website. Great dealers who have looked after my cars very well.

It's factory fitted so you can't "take it off", but you could re-order the glass without it - not sure how much it would cost, but if you find a car that's otherwise perfect, and you couldn't live with the privacy glass, then it's an option. I, like you, probably wouldn't spec it on a new car, but it wouldn't put me off the right car either.

Happen to know what Woodmans black Z4MC is like spec wise? As you say, its not on their site! Thanks for the info

Good to see you on the site mate, lots of great info here.

Have you seen privacy glass in the flesh? I have it on mine and I love it, really gives it a great look.

Have you also seen red leather in the flesh? A black car with red leather really does look the business. I had it on my M3, although with a silver grey car and I loved it. So much better in the flesh!

Hope you find what your looking for, there are good deals to be had!
 
Hey Jay keep up the good work :thumbsup: I reckon if you get a few more of these BMW GB cars sold ours might stop depreciating for a while :D
