I am viewing a 2010 Z4 23i Sdrive auto this week. It will be my first Z4, what should I be looking for? Any common faults or issues?

Thanks in advance and I will let you know how it goes!

Hi, 19” wheels crack on the inner rims (rears usually) and check the roof operates correctly with no lights or bongs from the dash.
There’s plenty of info on here to read up on

Hi, I've got a 2009 23i auto (coming up to 6 years ownership, 32k on clock) and apart from a broken rear spring its been pretty bombproof. Its not the fastest E89 but its a steady eddie. Because of its age Im going to have the gearbox serviced (been quoted £275 ex vat) and I regularly have the engine oil and brake fluid changed. See if you can get the vin number prior to viewing and check it on an online BMW vin decoder, you can see exactly what extras the car left with the factory with... BMW make you pay for everything, so don't take for granted that it will have heated seats, bluetooth, cruise control, parking distance control etc. Some things can be retro fitted and some not, check to see if the car has run-flat tyres (first thing most people change). As smartbear says test the roof a few times, and check the relays in the boot (only £32 to change), check the history and there are lots of helpful people on here if you have any further questions.

also, if the car got adaptive suspension, check for leaks
last week there was a post with picts here, what to look

these are expensive to replace, if you don't find a shop to fix them - I found one, made a post a year ago

on mine the vanos servo motor gasket leaked, it is a minor DIY

other than these only standard maintenance and modding

very happy with the car
