Hello all,

Having been a long time fan of the Z4 series, I've finally got myslef into gear to look for a purchase.
I'm viewing a Z4 in 2 days and wanted to know what people thought of the price and weather it's realistic in your opinion as I don't want to pay over the odds (I'm in no rush).

The Car (private sale):
'04' plate, silver, 2.5SE, manual, FBMWSH, 4 previous owners, 43k miles, MOT and tax til May 2011.
Extras: 6 CD stack, cruise control, wind deflector.

Price £9200...

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Thanks for the responce.
Is there anything specific to look out for with a Z4 of this age? common problems etc?

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks for the replies, will check out the link.

Hopefully I can get the car for under 9k if all is well

cheers,
Dave

I paid £9200 for mine, same year and spec as yours, and roughly the same mileage. I bought mine nearly 2 years ago, It was on the forecourt for £10,500. Managed to talk them down due to the state of the paint work, no road tax and only 3 months MOT left on it, and the financial climate at the time, I did walk away from the salesman twice as he would not barter, the second time i got as far as the street before he came running after me. Of course telling him there was another one same year and spec on private sale 20 miles away for £9000 (complete lie) helped my case as well.
I think to be buying an 04 plate now for £9200 is a wee bit pricey. not having a trade in and cash in hand also helped.
But at the end of the day it's down to what your happy to pay for what your getting in return, I have put alot of work into bringing back the paint work on mine and added a few extras, If I was selling mine now I would probably be advertising it at £9500, cross my fingers and hope for the best

Even with those milk bottle top wheels :poke:

I won't tell you what I paid for mine 6 years ago, it still makes me cry to think about it, still love the car though, can't actually think what I'd replace it with. That said I have permission to start looking at M's. :D

Maybe I'm just having bad luck, but I bought an 03 3 months ago, and today got a garage bill for £1,200 for clutch repairs. So if you have any means to,..maybe get someone to check out this sort of thing...or at least make sure you have a bit of extra cash ready to cover out of the blue bills.

Had a few issues with mine but just the usual stuff - roof motor, springs, window regulator and airbag light, spread out over 4 years. With a bit of luck most early cars would have suffered these issues by now.

If you haven't already have a look at Andy's FAQ on the front Discussion page, good info

Good luck.

Thanks for the info guys.

I managed to pick it up for £8800 which I didn't think was too bad because it was in very good condition - hardly a mark on the whole car inside or outside.
Hopefully many happy days of ownership ahead of me :-)
