Buyer Beware.

www.directcouriersolutions will get them back for a reasonable fee, picking up from your home.

Shame you had this experience, everyone I've ever dealt with on here has been 100%, though would have thought if the pictures they supplied & tyres were different I would send them back regardless or ask for say £100 refund to close matter, as am sure they really don't want them back

Thanks for the link. Thats exactly what I did and was knocked back.

Even a ton wont get them upto scratch, they need a full refurb.

Assuming this all gets sorted, what are you doing with the CSLs? Open to offers?

That's a real shame. I guess it has to happen occasionally but you would generally expect much more consideration from the forum than from an eBay seller

Quite agree  dealing with fellow forum members should be a pleasure , it always has been for me

Could this just be a simple misunderstanding? One person's like new may not be everyones? After all they are a used set of wheels .

I'm not taking sides ( I dont know either party or even who the other party is ) just pouring some calming oil on the waters

Afraid not. The original pictures are of absolutely spotless alloys. Also regarding...

6mm or 7mm is easily within error limit - you'd only have to push slightly harder/softer on the gauge and you'd end up with a different of 2mm.

My gauge doesn't work like that.

Yes, but the sellers might, but I think the point is tread depth should be indicated as a guide only if the actual thread depth is important to you, thus not just an indication, then you should take/ask for three measurement points inside, middle and outside. Rears are especially prone to unequal wear on the Zed due to camber

Not sure and Either way I'd have overlooked the tread. The state of the wheels i wouldn't. I've decided they are going back so lesson learned on my part. :x

Make sure you wrap them up well enough. Dont want to seller to say you are returning them in worse condition than when he sent them.

just had a quick look at the original for sale thread and would agree there was no mention of any damage. It does in fact say "perfect" condition which I would take as just out of the box brand new.

With only 25 posts, maybe the seller doesn't share the same community spirit the rest of us do?

Do you have a link for the thread?

After I found you hadn't posted in a for sale thread, I did a search of the for sale category for the word "wheels" and then eliminated the brands I knew not to match your picture which left me with 1. To then confirm I checked the rest of your photobucket to make sure they were the exact same. Easy!

Yes I do have a link but Merrsh didn't want to name and shame, so you can hunt yourself, not too hard to find ;-)
