Garage so will use trade plates for a test drive :thumbsup:

They will also stick 12mths MOT on it and you will have some warranty and protection under the sale of goods act which you will not get on the private sale.

No, you should get some sort of warranty, typically 3 months and an option to buy an extra 12 months, but just read the small print etc. will cover mechanical or electrical breakdowns but not consumable such as brakes or exhaust.

Sale of goods means that the car must be fit for purpose so if you drove it for a week and the engine blew up the garage is liable, with a private sale it is your responsibility.

Not certain how long sale of good will cover you but it offers greater protection.
 
Good to know, Derby is actually between me and the Cat C car, so might kill two birds with one stone and see both!
