Button thingy....

This might be a really stupid question but what is the bit of plastic trim just above the cubby release leaver, in between the rollover hoops? Its quite big, flush with the rest of the trim, has a shallow oval indent in it and looks a bit like another release button but cant be pressed?

Cant find any reference to it in the handbook and its bugging me, so ive turned to the hive-mind for answers.

Im ready for the obvious answer that is going to me look a fool for not knowing!!

Im hoping its some kind of turbo button!!!

I think it could be something to do with a manual (not automatic) roof?
Try searching the forum and see what you get, I started investigating but got bored. :roll:

Yeah, that's it, releases the down lock for manual roof. Does absolutely nothing on facelift cars with auto roofs, not sure about pre-facelift auto roofs.

One member in our local club has a 2006 3.0i facelift with manual roof and that is where the release lever is for the manual roof.

Not true about facelifts, it does do something - fckin' thing is prone to squeaking
