Been quoted €377 for replacement glass so I'll get stung with NCB. Carglass reckon it aint repairable. But I'm sure I've seen 'magic' filler kits. I'm doing a reccy on the internets....

not for hardtop glass for sure..

windscreen yes but that's where it stops.

How about covering it with a subtle black sticky plastic shape (sounds awful but I will mock up a pic and post)
Edit: mock up actually looks awful, forget my idea
 
Thx for suggestions all. Yep, as a perfectionist i'm a bit livid. But it's tempered by the fact that I snapped it up last year for only 600 sponds. Swings n roundabouts i suppose.
Going to try painting some glass resin up by layers then scraping polishing. Have a knackered old fruitbowl that i can practice on...

Going to chip off that top layer around the top edge of the chip. Should lessen the effect a bit perhaps...
 
That's a bugger! Is that a bootlid opening on to the glass? I thought as all UK cars had "hardtop preparation" there were limit stops fitted to the bootlid to stop it opening far enough to hit the roof?

Hope you can find a solution..

No it clears the bootlid by about 1mm. :?
It was me being a cack-handed dick and not preparing for the eventuality that one of us might drop it on its' glass edge. drrr :(

the problem is the way it catches the light, esp in the dark - looks awful. really bugged me now. grrr
will try the clear laquer build-up route and see if it works.

Well, not exactly dropped but the person helping me caused me to almost lose my grip on my top corner while i was opening a door. Not blaming them ofc. Just regret not planning ahead properly. This from a project manager too. Fail. :x

Hoping some carefully applied resin/laquer might conceal it a bit.
Couldnt find the chipped bit either. Coulda glued it back on perhaps.
Ho hum.

Not sure if it would happen to automotive glass but I’d be a little bit worried about shelling - where now an edge is damaged it can shatter the whole lot without warning.

Seen it happen on shower screens a couple of times where it must have had a tiny imperfection on an edge. As I said this may not be the case here

I think I’d be saving for a new piece of glass :(
