But it's not a 3.0l

Hi,

I have been looking at changing me car lately. I have been thinking of changing to either a Boxster S (2006) or another Z4 (2008)

I have only found one Z4 in Ireland that is for sale however it is a 2.5 which is a step down from my 3.0l...

What are your opinions on this car... are the spoiler and the front bumper genuine BMW Z4 parts or are these after market... anyway looking forward to your opinions on this Z (considering i would be stepping down in power)

Thanks in advance for your help...

its got aero front, skirts and rear spoiler, but is missing the carbon fibre rear diffuser.

Dont think the 2.5si will be noticably slower then a pre 3.0 (215bhp vs 230)...

But why change for the same car (but newer and less power) if there is nothing wrong with your car?

Not seen that kit often before, but that's quite nice. Is it purely to get a newer car, the reason for the change? The only other Z4 I'd ever change my 3.0i for would be an M or Alpina - a newer version of basically the same car doesn't offer me anything personally...

You can surely get an ///M for cheaper than that and it'll be no more expensive to run than a Boxster S surely?

Cars like this are more expensive in Ireland. Crazy taxes

Thanks for all the replies... yeah, the only reason i am thinking of changing is for a newer car as mine is a 2003 now and has 74k miles on the clock. I've had it over 2 years now and just fancy a change... and now i have spotted this:

I would get it wrapped in white before it even landed on my drive way if i was to get it... what you think

3.0 or nothing... what about the M - http://www.carzone.ie/search/BMW/Z4/M-Roadst/201035199411977/advert?channel=CARS

Would the running costs really be that more than the 3.0l... (my tax and insurance won't change)... is the servicing really that more expensive

I dont really know to be honest but I cant imagine servicing costs increasing too severely (maybe £100-200 extra a service?)

I was referring to insurance, tax and fuel actually when I mentioned extra costs. If youve got the insurance and tax sorted, and you can have a good guess at what the extra fuel costs are going to be then all you need to look into is servicing costs.

If that dosnt look too bad then you should go for it. I wouldnt be jealous...honest

Thanks for your help... i really like the Z4MR but i am not so sure on the color... would probably consider wrapping it in white or a matt charcoal
