Hi folks,

Am slightly annoyed. Just got back from visiting my parents place, pulled out of the driveway, headed down the road and stopped to give way to another car who then proceeded to ask me to stop "racing" down the road. Anyway, I turned round, got out and explained to her that it simply wasn't me and she was adamant it was. It got a bit heated as the accusations are totally untrue.

Anyway, if she does make a drama out of it, my question is do the Z4's record journeys/speeds which I could use to prove my innocence if she decides to put it to the police?

Nope! Can you imagine the uproar if it did???

If she really has a problem I'm sure the time he said you were doing such things you could prove that you were either in your parents or not even there at all. To say someone is racing down the road would imply that said person had been doing so frequently and if you don't live there or around there it is doubtful it is you. The police can do nothing about her allegations without proof.

She would also need your registration and if they did come a knocking re a complaint again they would need times and dates. If these did not match any times you were there I would be bringing up said conversation and asking them what they intended to do re her wasting police time?
 
An Intravee logs details like distance, max speed, MPG and max acceleration/deceleration G forces... But they're not standard, they're an aftermarket bit of kit primarily for integrating i-devices with the car audio system.
 
No expert on the UK police approach / law here, but would the UK police really be inclined to do anything at all with her mere claim that you were racing? Unsubstantiated and all? In the Netherlands that would not stand a chance.

If this were to be any different in the UK I woudl file a counterclaim that you were passed by her on the wrong side of the road, while she was driving 70 MPH in reverse, holding a mobile phone in one hand, a joint in the other and you noticed that on top of it all she was performing oral sex on the mayor. Most importantly you noted her illegaly using her fog lights at bright day light and that her mirrors were not adjusted properly. That all is only if a claim does not need to be substantiated of course.

You catch my drift: I woud not worry about recording anything and in fact would not worry at all.

Next time don't turn around and explain, nothing good has ever come out of that. :poke:
 
Sounds like a case of car jealousy to me! Either that, or an automatic assumption that a car like a Z4 moves everywhere at high speed.

What was she driving?

I'm just pissed because it's not true and to be accused of something without any substantial evidence is bang out of order. It didn't seem like she was genuinely concerned about the 'racing' but just wanted a pop at someone. Anyway, not to let the silly thing ruin my day ...
 
The worst case is that you will receive a letter from the police saying what you did, where and what time. My boss got one for speeding after bring reported. The information was incorrect but you have no recourse as the police will not discuss the matter saying that they have no more information. It states it will be kept on record for 12 months.

I would just forget about it as I doubt they will report it anyway.
 
Don't let it get to you. She's just whining for the sake of it, and it seems like she's got you confused for someone else.
