Busy first weekend with the car

Well, what a busy first weekend with the car.

Saturday morning a quick trip to Soper BMW at Lincoln to collect my parts, a spot of top-off action in the sun then home.

Straight onto the jobs to be completed

First, cup holders. Took 15 mins in total for both sides, extreamly easy.

Second, new ZHP gear knob - 2 minutes

Third, fitted new hi level brake light (old one cracked with LEDs out) - 15 mins

Fourth - new wipers fitted - 5 mins, didn't take a pic as so boring.

Fifth - fitted cruise control stalk and cut surround - 25 mins

Then went out for dinner in it, loving the new feel of the gear knob.

Sunday morning;

First - check both hood drain holes by removing both rear wheels, removing wheel arch trip and removing drain plugs, compressed air down the accessible right hand side and vacuum out the inaccessible left hand side.
To my amazement both were clear and in very good shape - both drains running free and looking like someone has done this before too. 1.5 hrs in total (still only half awake!)

Second - CDV delete. Got under the car, undid it, screwed the pipe back to the other pipe and bled it. Biggest pain in the neck was getting my hand near enough to the bleed nipple to get a bleed pipe on! 30 mins.

So, after what is really a very small amount if time in the garage I've done loads of mini jobs that will hopefully make the car much better.

Let my wife drive for most of today and she commented on the better gear change between 1st and 2nd so hopefully the CDV delete will be helping that.

What did you do on yours this weekend?!

Youve been a busy boy! Very satisfying doing all those jobs and it has not taken you long.
Just done my CDV and fitted cruise as well.

I've literally done about 10 miles in it with the wife beside me so haven't really had chance to boot it and try it out yet.

I'll let you know

I forgot one job I did too - fettled with the sound generator foams - the wife thought that removing all of the bulkhead-end foam was too loud so I cut it in half and put half back in, perfect now and she's happy too.

I've got to do my CDV took my mate out in the Z booted it the CDV make you look like you can't change gear properly between 1st and 2nd :(

Am surprised there's any Zed's left with a factory fitted CDV... amazed what you achieved in such a small period of time, excellent work

Honestly - the CDV was one of the easiest things out of the lot.

Anyone who wants to pop over to grab a cuppa on a weekend near Melton Mowbray I'm more than happy to lend a hand to whip yours out
