If these speed awareness courses are so damned important, why isn't every driver compelled to attend one?
The idea that they're only of use to people who have been caught speeding is farcical.
There are some nutters out there who might never get caught, and then there are very careful drivers like me with one conviction (36 in a 30 at 3:00am) in 33 years of driving.
I've no doubt that they contain useful info, so maybe insurance companies should offer a discount to people who attend one voluntarily. Just a thought, as I'd do one if it saved me a few quid.
