Bust flaps

Oh dear, I reversed and hit a curb. In the process I appear to have broken one of my rear mud flaps. So my options are replace it or just take them all off. I'm thinking take them all off.
They look like it's just a few screws but in the rears the side bits look like it's stuck on.
How do I get these off and what's best to clean off the residue where the flap (oooo-err) meets the paintwork?
Or am I best to keep them on and just get a new one?
Thanks in advance

I should update my signature to stress that in addition to the whippy aerial and boot spoiler I am also the proud owner of .............mud flaps!!! :) :) :)

So I have to say...........keep them/replace them/ move the curbs in future!

No idea never broke them!

I would replace though. They can't be that expensive and are a good candidate for a scrapyard as well as being across all models.

On eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-BMW-Z4-E85-E86-Rear-Mudflaps-/161765618332?hash=item25a9fb729c

£60.49 just for the rears, but they are genuine BMW and "easy to install".

Good luck with the replacements!

Just had a quick scout on eBay and there isn't much apart from a couple brand new and pairs at that for £60 plus postage which is rubbish.
Just wondering if a great big bit of epoxy would sort it? If anything it would just leave a little hairline on the side?
Not for the ocd purists but it'll solve a problem wouldn't it?

Sorry no flaps joke for you Mr Tourette but my advice to MartynFrancis would be to lose the mudflaps altogether. They detract from the gorgeous lines of a Zed and would look a lot better without them IMO.

Despite what I posted earlier I couldn't be bothered to include mud flaps in my signature, but Toledo's post made me bothered! :poke:

I would take the flap off give it a good clean and as you say use an epoxy glue making sure you wipe away any surplus on the front surface then once set rub down with a bit of wet & dry very fine sandpaper then lastly a coat of Autoglm rubber and plastic gel. It will bring it up like new just remember to apply the gel to the other side so they match. :)

I will have to make a signature myself then in which I will make sure to specify "no mud flaps"! :P

But seriously OP if you like them keep them, it's just my opinion. At least we can all agree that our Zeds are all great cars, mudflaps or not!
